The VP Operations leads the development, implementation and monitoring of all Strategic Business Unit Operations required to provide world class customer service in product availability and quality; order accuracy; and efficient, on time delivery service. The VP Operations and Delivery has direct and controlling impact on their strategic business unit and ensures operational alignment with company strategies and goals. This role serves as a performance-driven leader and business unit leader for the Company and its strategic initiatives. This role is part of the Operations leadership team. Here’s more of what you will do… (OK, not all in one day!) Leads, develops, communicates and implements the business unit’s operational strategy to drive operational efficiency and maximize profits while maintaining a high level of quality and customer service. Develops and leads the implementation of business strategies and initiatives. Leads the development of annual and longer-term business plans for the strategic business unit ensuring alignment with the company’s business strategies and initiatives. Quantifies desired business outcomes (i.e. revenue, KPIs, etc). Determines, manages and allocates resources (i.e. budget, headcount, etc). Communicates strategic recommendations and executes a course of action for overall improvement in operations, expense, quality and service. Develops and executes an operations performance measurement plan and reports results in an accurate and timely manner. Drives team member engagement to commit to achieve business goals. Continually evaluates the current logistics and distribution models for long term growth and support of business operations. Acts as Operations liaison with Business Unit Leaders to ensure productive communication, prompt resolution of issues, and improvement opportunities are addressed and resolved to ensure optimal performance and achievement of overall strategic business objectives. Attends regularly scheduled meetings with the Strategic Business Unit team to drive and align on business strategies and initiatives. Builds relationships and partnerships within the Strategic Business Unit to accomplish business objectives. Recommends and implements enhancement strategies in collaboration with the Strategic Business Unit leadership. Drives, manages and reports on operational performance. Establishes standards and ensures compliance for increasing throughput in the Distribution Center and providing exceptional customer service from Delivery Services via increased productivity, technology, improved processes and procedures, and overall streamlining of the Supply Chain operations. Monitors internal control documentation, remediate control exceptions and responds to internal and external audit requests. Assimilates information from a variety of sources and analyzes financial, operational, quality and service metrics. Holds Distribution Center, Delivery Services and Facilities direct reports accountable for achievement of business plans. Provides oversight, guidance and timely feedback to the Operations teams. Takes corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of business objectives. Balances the need for short term business objectives with the longer-term delivery of stakeholder value. Participates in the identification, creation and implementation of tools and best practices. Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support operational objectives. Develops, prepares and maintains the Operations budget for the business unit to achieve operational initiatives and strategies. Establishes and maintains internal controls and reporting systems which provide accurate and timely information for budget management and financial analysis. Collaborates with other Business Unit Leaders to ensure alignment and support of Company initiatives and strategies. Monitors budget assignments for Operations as well as controlling costs and labor expenses. Oversees the Distribution Center Management Team to ensure efficient inventory management, timely and accurate order processing, and maximize efficiency. Continuously seeks improvement in Distribution Center operations, processes and procedures to increase efficiency and profitability. Oversees the Delivery Management Team to ensure all scheduled deliveries are made daily, customer deliveries are correct as ordered and product is rotated in accordance with current policy. Continuously seeks improvement in delivery processes and procedures to increase efficiency and profitability. Leads, mentors and promotes a safety-oriented culture, OSHA compliance, and ensures unsafe situations are corrected in a timely fashion. Oversees and monitors all Distribution Center and Delivery Services operations/activities ensuring proper procedures and policy adherence from all leaders and team members. Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and programs. Ensures all Operations leaders develop, implement and promote OSHA compliance, job level training, and all safety initiatives. This list is not all inclusive of other tasks and subtasks that may be necessary in performing this role, but rather an overview of the role’s primary work tasks. Here's what you must have to be considered for this role... Minimum of 10 Years Progressive Supply Chain, Logistics and/or Operations Management Experience Minimum of 10 Years Progressive Supervisory and Leadership Experience Managing Large, Diverse Teams Aptitude for Cost Accounting, Reporting and Inventory and Operational Control Systems in Relation to Meeting Overall Goals Progressive Responsibility and Experience in Identifying, Developing and Creating Systems and Processes to Support Growth Demonstrated Track Record in Achieving Results High School Graduate or Equivalent Certificate Here's what we hope you will have...
